Strengthening Families Facilitator Purpose: Ensure that skill groups are implemented with fidelity, that the participants are engaged, that the participants are learning and implementing the skills through engaged facilitation. Time Commitment
14 week commitment with up to 4 hours weekly including study time before the sessions, 2.5 hour sessions and debrief meeting, may include a few scheduled planning meetings prior to implementation.
Proficiencies needed:- Good communication skills
- Ability to facilitate a small group
- Can adapt and instruct difficult participants
- Ability to work as a team
- Creativity
- Pre Launch
- Planning meetings
- Read over entire curriculum for each age group to understand scope and sequence of all age groups participating
- Meet with co-facilitator and plan for sessions
- Attend facilitator training
- During Sessions
- Arrive half hour early to set up classroom
- Ongoing communication with site coordinator and other facilitators
- Ensure engagement of families and participants
- Problem solve with site coordinator when you are made aware of barriers
- Lead sessions ensuring all participants are engaged and participating in the group
- Facilitate some of the family group sessions with a facilitation partner
- May be asked to make contact with some participant families outside of class to ensure participation
- Graduation
- Participate with families in fun activities
- Celebrate completion and participate in graduation ceremony

Requirements to Volunteer
- Submit a Volunteer Interest Form
- Attend Launch Training & Mentor Training (if applicable)
- Pass a background check
Volunteers receive training in the areas of safety and security and our staff are committed to the safety of everyone in the facility, including volunteers. Our training covers all rules, regulations, and guideline that volunteers must know in order to be prepared to work with our clients and enter the facility. Even those with previous experience in other facilities will need to attend Launch. There is no time requirement to volunteer. We appreciate any time you are willing to give in order to help our clients.
