NAMI Solano County Seeks Volunteer to Serve as Administrative Assistant.

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI Solano County serves to carry out this commitment at the local level in Solano County, California.

We are seeking an organized, reliable, and adaptable volunteer to provide administrative and logistical assistance to two of our leaders: our Executive Director and our Director of the Mental Health Diversion Program.

This volunteer role would involve a combination of virtual and office-based activities. Our small office is located in Fairfield and the volunteer administrative assistant would typically spend several hours in the office 1 or 2 days per week. The average weekly time commitment would be 6 to 8 hrs. Scheduling can be flexible, based on the needs of the ED and Director and the volunteer's availability.

General tasks and activities include:

Creating forms, surveys, and fliers; creating spreadsheets, organizing data, tracking affiliate memberships

Handling incoming and outgoing mail (Fairfield Post Office);

Maintaining a monthly office calendar

Maintaining office equipment; checking and restocking office supplies, training packets, marketing materials

Stocking outreach tabling carts with brochures and other materials

Keeping the office clean and welcoming for staff, volunteers, guests

Desired Skills/Experience:

Strong technology skills and familiarity with Google Workspace

Strong experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Strong phone and customer service skills

Prior administrative assistant experience (either as employee or volunteer) is a plus.
