The CCC Campground is located approximately 15 miles south of Watford City, North Dakota. The access road and campground loops are gravel. The campground can accommodate large R.V.’s, trailers, and tents. Campsites are arranged in three separate loops, with two loops open to campers with horses, and one loop reserved for campers without horses.
There are 31 campsites, a picnic shelter that can accommodate 30 people, 3 vault toilets, and drinking water from a hand water pump.
CCC Campground is popular throughout the summer and fall months. The campground contains the north trailhead for the Maah Dah Hey and the Long-X Trails: both a popular trails for equestrian riders, hikers and mountain bike riders. Horse and pack stock amenities include: hitching rails and an accessible stock ramp.
Temperatures in the summer will typically be in the 80’s and 90’s, and will occasionally reach into the 100’s. Intense thunderstorms are frequent. Most essential services may be found in Watford City, including medical, gas, propane, groceries, library, laundry, ranger station, restaurants, and hardware store.
