ORGANIZATION: Welcome Home Housing

  • 15 people are interested

Welcome Home Housing is a small 501c3 nonprofit in Sacramento, CA that provides permanent supportive housing for adults living with serious mental illness. We manage five homes in the Rosemont and Rancho Cordova areas. In addition, we collaborate with Turning Point Community Programs to manage a respite home.

We are currently seeking a volunteer with fundraising, grant-writing, or nonprofit development experience to serve as board member and potentially step into the role of Fundraising or Development Officer. The primary responsibility of the volunteer would be to lead the organization's efforts in raising funds, pursuing government and foundation grants, and assisting the Executive Director in managing ongoing individual donor outreach.

As a full board member, the volunteer would be expected to participate in board activities that include attending regular board meetings, serving on at least one committee, and participating in fundraising. The board meets in the evening on the second Tuesday of every month. Our meeting location is currently remote via Zoom, although we maintain a presence in Sacramento. We are exploring having some of the meetings in person. If you can contribute your time, thoughtfulness, and leadership, and are interested in exploring this opportunity, please contact us to find out whether this volunteer opportunity is right for you.
