Welcome Home Housing is a small 501c3 nonprofit in Sacramento, CA that provides permanent supportive housing for adults living with serious mental illness. We manage five homes in the Rosemont and Rancho Cordova areas. In addition, we collaborate with Turning Point Community Programs to manage a respite home.
We are currently seeking a volunteer with marketing & communications experience to serve as a Board member and potentially fill the role of Marketing & Communications Officer. The primary responsibility of the Marketing & Communications Officer would be the management of outreach, social media, and building community connections. This volunteer would work closely with our Executive Director and Fundraising Chair in leading the effort to get promote the organization to the community and generate interest in ongoing fundraising support. Strong knowledge of graphic design, social media marketing, and nonprofit outreach is desired.
As a full board member, this volunteer would be expected to participate in board activities that include attending regular board meetings, serving on at least one committee, and participating in fundraising. The board meets in the evening on the second Tuesday of each month. Our meeting location is currently remote on Zoom, however we maintain a presence in Sacramento. We are exploring having some meetings in person. If you can contribute your time, thoughtfulness, and leadership, and are interested in exploring this opportunity, please contact us to find out whether this volunteer opportunity is right for you.
