The Guest Teacher (GT) program is a two-month daily volunteer program that is based on a curriculum focusing on Grammar, Reading, and Listening. The program will allow for a connection between the US and other English language proficient nationals to volunteer and improve the English language proficiency levels of the students of Givers of Dreams Organization (GODO).
Objective: This program’s objective is to improve GODO’s students’ English proficiency in Oral Language, Writing, Reading, and Listening through mini daily English sessions with volunteer Guest Teachers.
Outcome: Students will be able to improve their English language skills and progress closer from their current level to a higher level as stated by their curriculum. In addition, the guest teachers will have had completed 19-22 volunteer hours as a guest teacher for GODO and will received a certification of recognition for their service.

Session Description: Students will be assigned to all GT a week before sessions will begin. The Guest Teacher (GT) will have to commit to a daily English Session (1 hour each) with the students Monday to Friday. All English improvement and learning activities must be deemed appropriate by GODO’s teachers’ representative (Kayshooly Thao and Lai Thao) and Her Vang. All GT will collaborate with the GODO team to create a teaching lesson plan that will meet GODO’s learning objective, but GODO will allow creative freedom from the GT.

*All GT’s activities and lessons need to be approved at least 1 week in advance for proper coordination and scheduling.
