Active Duty and Veteran Military, Cards/Letters for Veterans in Hospice

ORGANIZATION: Assisteo Hospice

As the COVID pandemic continues and the virus mutates, once again patients in hospice are having limited interaction with family and friends. Not having that support brings depression and anxiety.

Are you a veteran or active duty military?

Veterans, especially veterans in hospice, speak the language of military camaraderie only with other veterans like no other. You can brighten the day of these heroes by writing encouraging cards and letters. You can share a little about yourself, like what branch you serve(d) in, where you are/were stationed, but the focus should be on being supportive to them, in the unique military way. Chances are you will never get a return letter but you can rest assured that your words of encouragement will be so valuable to those at end of life.

If you have questions about this project, please let us know. For the cards/letters, you can email what you've written and we'll print them out or you can send them to our office. If you are in the greater Phoenix area, our Volunteer Coordinator is happy to meet you convenient to you to pick them up. Just let us know what works best for you.

Thank you for your interest, it's wonderful that no matter our circumstances, we can always make a difference. And thank you for your sacrifice in service to our country and your continuing service to other military veterans!
