ROLE SUMMARY:
Friendship Circle Summer Programs Volunteers will be trained and paired 1:2 or 1:3 with a camper who they will spend the day engaging with. Volunteers will be given information such as likes and dislikes of their camper so they can start to build a friendship right away, ensuring that participants have the most fun and exciting summer possible! Volunteers will ideally commit by week, but exceptions can be made to only volunteer certain days. Kosher and nut free lunch is provided daily, but volunteers are allowed to bring their own NUT FREE lunches.

Day Camp combines learning critical social skills with a fun and engaging camp experience. Friendship Circle is offering six weeks of summer fun on Friendship Circle’s Meer campus with exciting field trips out in the community. Campers will receive a memorable and active summer experience while developing friendships with teen volunteers and their peers. Volunteers will be matched 1:2 or 1:3 with campers with special needs to help them engage in camp activities, facilitate friendships, and have fun.
Three days per week, campers and their buddy will rotate through an engaging and unique schedule on the Friendship Circle campus. Daily rotations include: arts and crafts, sports, water play in our splash pad, music, dancing, singing, and more! Campers will also have the opportunity to enjoy special guests and entertainment including magic shows, bounce houses, and other local entertainers. Two days per week, campers will also get the opportunity to participate in field trips across the metro-Detroit area. From hands-on museums to thrilling waterparks, campers and their buddy will have unique experiences while fostering relationships within the community.
