ORGANIZATION: Wisconsin Alliance of Artists & Craftspeople, Inc.

Give our artists a break from their booth. Typically, a break is ½ hour at the most. You will not need to assist in sales, only watch the booth and inform customers on when the artist will return. Artists can request and schedule breaks at the Info Booth when they sign in, or if they need immediate help they can text the Info Booth and get a sitter. Booth Sitting shifts are two and a half hours on Sunday during which time you will either be assigned an artist or help in the Info Booth until someone texts for a break.

Your efforts will go towards the Art Fair Off the Square. This annual event attracts over 200,000 thousand visitors from around the region.

There will be a short virtual orientation the week before.
Bottled water will be provided and you're welcome to bring your own.
Volunteers who work more than a 4-hour shift will receive a t-shirt.
Suggested to take a bus, public car, or bike to downtown.

About Wisconsin Alliance of Artists & Craftspeople, Inc.

Location:

2450 E MIFFLIN ST, MADISON, WI 53704, US

Mission Statement

The annual Art Fair Off the Square and Winter Art Fair Off the Square are the two juried fairs sponsored and produced by the Wisconsin Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople, Inc. (WAAC), a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation formed to promote and create contact between Wisconsin artists and craftspeople and the public. WAAC takes pride in having been created and operated by the artists themselves. Along with providing a market for exhibitors, we continue to educate the public about art and provide important one-to-one interaction between artist and buyer.

Description

The Art Fair Off the Square runs concurrently with the Art Fair on the Square (second weekend in July). More than 200,000 people are expected to visit downtown Madison during this two-day celebration of visual art, which has become a highlight of the summer season. The Art Fair Off the Square will be comprised of approximately 130 artist spaces.
