Please visit the new page to apply.
Madison Police Department is requesting our help with helping pedestrians cross Doty Street safely during our show. The presence of friendly volunteers are needed to assist handicapped or elderly patrons. Water is readily available. Bring an umbrella for shade. If you can only volunteer for one hour we will allow that. Just pick the time and make note of what hour you're helping with.
Your efforts will go towards the Art Fair Off the Square. This annual event attracts over 200,000 thousand visitors from around the region.
There will be a short virtual orientation the week before.
Bottled water will be provided and you're welcome to bring your own.
Volunteers who work more than a 3-hour shift will receive a t-shirt.
Suggested to take a bus, public car, or bike to downtown.

Mission Statement
The annual Art Fair Off the Square and Winter Art Fair Off the Square are the two juried fairs sponsored and produced by the Wisconsin Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople, Inc. (WAAC), a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation formed to promote and create contact between Wisconsin artists and craftspeople and the public. WAAC takes pride in having been created and operated by the artists themselves. Along with providing a market for exhibitors, we continue to educate the public about art and provide important one-to-one interaction between artist and buyer.
Description
The Art Fair Off the Square runs concurrently with the Art Fair on the Square (second weekend in July). More than 200,000 people are expected to visit downtown Madison during this two-day celebration of visual art, which has become a highlight of the summer season. The Art Fair Off the Square will be comprised of approximately 130 artist spaces.
