Volunteer's needed to help create cards, decorations (including decorating the office) and such to help boost the moral of the staff, patients and their families. Mission Statement

Harbor Hospice is dedicated to caring for patients who are terminally ill, and providing comfort and education for the families of these loved ones.

Description

Our goal at Harbor is to help families and patients get through the end of life process. This is a very difficult time in their lives, so we at Harbor provide for the needs of the patient and family so that this difficult road they are on becomes easier to travel. Our clinical staff go out and see our patients on a daily basis to asses their needs and provide care. Our Spiritual Counselors and Social Workers provide extra assistance with whatever the families may need, such us finding extra help to care for their loved on, guidance on paperwork, finding funeral homes, or just a shoulder to cry on. Another aspect of our company is our volunteers. Our volunteers play a vital role at Harbor Hospice. They are able to provide companionship with our patients so that their families can have some much needed respite during the day as well as providing light housekeeping for our families. They are also able to assist our clerical staff in maintaining the day to day needs of the company by assisting with filing, and putting educational materials together for our families and so much more! We also have a pet therapy program, a music program, and we would like to get our veteran program going again! Because many of our patients still enjoy things that they aren't able to do anymore, such as listen to music, pet their favorite animal, or sit and talk with someone is willing to listen. Our volunteers really are the heart of our company!
