Courage Kenny Riders is a therapeutic horseback riding program for children ages 5-21 with physical disabilities and sensory impairments. We offer therapeutic riding sessions on Tuesday evenings at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Stillwater, MN.
- Spring Session: Tuesdays, May 17 - June 28 (no riding on June 14), make-up lesson July 12
- Summer Session: Tuesdays, July 19 - August 30 (no riding on August 2), make-up lesson September 6
Volunteer roles include Horse Leader, Side Walker and Arena Assistant. No experience required. Volunteers should be able to walk for at least one hour without fatiguing, be able to jog for very short distances, be able to walk with his/her arm (one at a time) above shoulder height and be able to support a modest amount of weight. Training will be provided.
We are also always looking for horses to participate in this program. Please contact us if you have a horse and would like more information.
All volunteers must attend one training at Washington County Fair Grounds:
- Tuesday, May 3, 6-7:30pm OR
- Tuesday, May 10, 6-7:30pm
Minimum age is 16 years old.
