HIPS is a 7 year organization that has survived the pandemic and is executing its next 5 year strategic plan.
The current Founder/Executive Director is a volunteer and HIPS is seeking an experienced business owner/leader
who may very well have joined the Great Resignation and is looking for an exciting opportunity to grow an impactful non-profit with the possibility of being a paid Executive Director and or positioning the organization to hire an Executive Director in the next 24 mos.

We are currently a volunteer organization who has 2 independent contractors who represent HIPS in the community. The goal is to expand our reach statewide in the next five years, staff a paid executive and administrative assistant.

The ideal volunteer will have a passion for underprivileged college age students, a passion for education and a passion for making an impact in the community through the execution of our mission and operations. This volunteer has the potential for a paid career sometime in the next 24 mos.

Mission Statement

To break the cycle of homelessness and poverty through education

Description

HIPS provides post secondary scholarships to homeless or students in poverty between the ages of 17-25 to attend a trade school, community college or university to achieve an education that allows them to be competitive in the job market, earn a living/sustainable wage and break their cycle of homelessness or poverty.

In seven years HIPS has awarded over $800,000 in over 250 scholarships. Our scholarships focus on removing the barriers or stressors our scholars face while pursuing their aspirations from food insecurities, homelessness, transportation challenges, technology needs, child care costs, and general living expenses.

Our scholars are self-invested each with a vision and determination to achieve their goals. Our students typical GPA is 3.5 or above in any school year.
