ORGANIZATION: St. Leonard's Ministries

St. Leonard's ministries seeks a part-time Volunteer Science Instructor/tutor, to teach adults in an alternative high school setting. Course content emphasizes a diverse urban context introducing the basic principles of life, earth and physical science, the scientific method, and current events related to science. The course will emphasize the critical examination of scientific literature as well as grounding scientific research in a historical and cultural context. Must have a heart for volunteerism, and a desire to work with marginalized populations seeking change. Instructors maintain attendance and student performance records. Description

Believing individuals want to lead productive and whole lives, St. Leonard’s Ministries provides a setting in which men and women recently released from prison can achieve such a life. Residents are provided with an array of program services designed to assist them as they make the transition to successful, independent living. During their stay at St. Leonard’s House, Grace House and St. Andrew’s Court, residents are helped to reassess value systems, to reorder priorities and to develop socially and legally acceptable patterns of behavior.
