ORGANIZATION: SOUTH KING TOOL LIBRARY

Currently seeking a volunteer for our Board of Directors as Secretary. The secretary takes notes at the online meetings on the second Wednesday of each month from Noon to 1:30pm. Other time frames and commitments are flexible. This is a working board, where we are encouraged to participate in events and help as needed at the tool library. The South King Tool Library is a great place to support the community and help create a sustainable future. We have an outdoor facility to lend tools and a rain garden at our location. This position can be done remotely with a computer, but also being at events and helping in person will be at our facility located in Federal Way. Mission Statement

The South King Tool Library (SKTL) provides access to tools and training in order to help maintain neighborhoods, build community and reduce unnecessary consumption with households of all forms including low-income residents and under-served populations. ​SKTL fulfills this mission through our key programs: tool lending, repair events, and classes that teach DIY and eco-friendly skills. We also partner with other businesses, organizations, groups and community members to host recycling and resource sharing events, sustainability summits, and other opportunities to come together in support of healthy communities, economic empowerment, environmental stewardship, and equity in all its forms.

What is a tool library?

A tool library is like a traditional library, allowing you to check out tools and equipment to help you build, repair and maintain your home and things. You need to sign up for a free SKTL membership to borrow tools. By sharing tools, we save money and space, while reducing consumption and waste. BECOME A MEMBER
