As we work towards greater food justice and equity, The Food Group relies on community packing power to get food distributed in a short period of time. As a Food Packing Volunteer, you will ensure that more people have access to healthy and culturally relevant food.

Food from wholesalers and local farms is repacked in our warehouse for our Fare For All affordable grocery program or made available for distribution to around 200 food shelves!

Event info:

Warehouse Volunteers assist with projects including:

• Bulk repacking of items such as oatmeal, rice, beans, or pasta
• Assembling boxes for food distribution
• Sorting donated goods
• Cleaning and sanitation of the workspace

This event is a two-hour time commitment and there is no prior food packing experience required to sign up. Our staff will cover all important information before the project starts.

Volunteering with The Food Group is meant to be a safe and meaningful experience. Let us know if you require special accommodations. Minimum age is 12, and all minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Volunteers are not required to wear a face mask while they are volunteering with The Food Group. You may choose to continue to wear a mask, and it is essential that our organization supports and respects individual choices. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 5 days and/or have symptoms we ask that you refrain from volunteering at this time.

Where do we meet?

Our warehouse is located at 8501 54th Ave N, New Hope, MN 55428. Parking Lot available with wheelchair access. Enter the building along the west sidewalk (right side of the building) and through the orange door.
