Are you an active adult age 55+ and would love to give back to your community? If your answer is YES, the Neighbor to Neighbor/ AmeriCorps Senior Companion Program is a perfect match as we are looking for amazing volunteers like you.

Loneliness and isolation are increasing in our senior neighbors but you can make a difference. Not only will you help a senior stay in their home with dignity, but you will also make new friends and enhance the lives of your neighbors.

You can:

  • offer rides to medical appointments
  • Deliver food pantry boxes
  • Offer in-home companionship to local seniors by visiting once a week
  • Become a friendly face and welcome visitor to brighten a senior’s day


Volunteers are covered by additional insurance at no cost, enjoy recognition celebrations and receive mileage reimbursement. You will also receive all the training and support you need to be a valued volunteer. Flexible schedules are available to work with your lifestyle and no heavy lifting is required.

Neighbor to Neighbor of South Carolina, Inc. (N2N), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, promotes independence, relieves isolation, and connects homebound adults to their community through transportation 2016 Recipient of the state-wide SCANPO Excellence Award (now Together SC). Neighbor to Neighbor dedicated to helping solve adult isolation through passionate and committed volunteers.

Description

Neighbor to Neighbor inspires in us the desire to help our fellow Neighbor who is homebound due to age, disability, and/or chronic illness in Horry and Georgetown Counties.

In the spirit of unselfish love, N2N uses innovative technology and best practices in connecting adults in need with qualified and trained volunteers who provide services, such as transportation to medical appointments and other life enhancing destinations, to promote and maintain independent living.
