Meal Packagers are in high demand as we vamp up our meal production. Your role as a volunteer would be to be part of the meal preparation and packaging process. Enjoy getting to know new people and have fun while you work.

About LITTLE JOHN'S RESTAURANT INC

Location:

5302 Anton Drive, FITCHBURG, WI 53711, US

Mission Statement

Little John's Restaurant Inc, a 501c3 non-profit is focused on turning "Excess into Access". Almost 40% of edible food goes unused in the United States while food insecurity rises across America. Little John's rescues food from local grocers, farmers, and wholesalers, while it is at peak freshness and our classically trained chefs then turn the proteins, produce, and breads into delicious, nutritious meals for our Evening Meals on Wheels Program, Little John's Lunchbox at Madison Children's Museum, and pop up Pay-What-You-Want Events.

Description

Little John's Volunteers are an integral part of our success of turning "Excess into Access". Donations are gathered fresh weekly from area grocers, wholesalers, and farm stands. Additionally, during peak produce season, volunteers are sent to various farmers around the greater Dane County area to help pick and sort large donations. Donations are then cleaned, processed, and prepped for use. Chefs take these wonderful ingredients and turn them into meals that are then packaged by even more volunteers and sent out into the community to create access for all, regardless of an ability to pay. Turning "Excess into Access" is saving our community and our environment, with every meal we make, and we count on our volunteers to help our dream become reality.
