ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross / Northwest Region

The Disaster Action Team (DAT) Coordinator will assist in leading chapter activities by providing administrative support to the DAT program. Also, works with other chapter leadership to define and articulate the overall strategy for the Disaster Action Team program.

What is the Disaster Action Team? Disaster Action Team volunteers help local families cope with emergencies. Home fires and other disasters can occur any time, any place. As a Disaster Action Team volunteer, you’ll provide emotional support, financial assistance, and information to help families begin the process of recovery.

Responsibilities as a Disaster Action Team Coordinator include:

  1. Oversees and monitors completion of training .
  2. Maintains a climate of learning and engagement for all members.
  3. Ensures mentoring and coaching occurs across all levels of the program.
  4. Works with leadership team to ensure program standards are being met recommend new candidates for leadership positions.
  5. Provides career path coaching for volunteers with leadership potential.
