We welcome volunteers to our beautiful new performing arts center in downtown Jaffrey, NH. Volunteers are indispensable to our operations. Volunteers may serve in "Front of House" positions of greeters, ticket-takers, concession sales and usher. There are also administrative opportunities in general administration, research, advertising/marketing and fundraising. And in developing special programs such as ParkArts, our educational program in theater arts for children and adults. Soon we will also need production help behind the scenes.
Volunteers are invited to enjoy the shows they work, space permitting.

About THE PARK THEATRE INC

PO BOX 278, 19 Main St., JAFFREY, NH 03452, US

Mission Statement

The purpose of The Park Theatre is to provide and promote artistic, cultural, entertainment and educational programs and activities for Monadnock Region residents and visitors. Its vision is to be a regional center for the arts & entertainment, a meeting place for the community and a dynamic force in the region’s economic vitality and quality of life.

Description

The newly rebuilt Park Theatre is a non-profit, fully accessible performing arts center that opened its doors on August 5, 2022, in the heart of Jaffrey, N.H. The reincarnation of the historic movie and vaudeville house opened in 1922, the new Theatre is designed for the presentation of film and live performances to provide and promote artistic, cultural, entertainment and educational programs and activities for Monadnock Region residents and visitors. The 333-seat main William David Eppes Auditorium features a retractable bank of seats opening up an optional 1,800-sq ft space for café-style seating, rehearsals, set design work, dance, conventions and other functions. The upstairs Michael B. King Auditorium is flexibly designed for smaller movie showings (77 seats), live music, lectures, poetry, magic and similar events and may also be used for banquets and receptions. Respectful of its own history, the Theatre has preserved Art Ddeco designs, including historic art deco sconces, and will re-install the iconic four murals of Mt. Monadnock painted by muralist Carl Eric Nelson in 1941. The Theatre welcomes a range of performers from local community groups to national touring acts. Its ParkArts program, currently under development, will provide educational programs in theater arts for youth and adults.
