The AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP of Washoe County matches volunteers aged 55 and older with local organizations making a difference in the community. Through the AmeriCorps Seniors program, volunteers can use their skills and talents accumulated over the years to give back. Volunteers select where they would like to serve their volunteer hours, what they would like to do within that organization and how many hours they would like to spend volunteering based on their schedules. Some volunteer opportunities include providing social support or transportation to older adults, distributing medical equipment and supplies, and advocating for community safety.

It's our main goal to enhance the quality of life and well-being among elders in Nevada, which is why we are passionate about creating effective programming to promote health and prevent disease. The Sanford Center for Aging offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for those looking to support older adults in our community, or for adults age 55+ who are looking to volunteer through AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP of Washoe County.
