Meals on Wheels West Contra Costa County is accepting applications for five board member positions. Elections will be held to fill the president, vice president, and secretary positions. Contribute your expertise to an essential service for our vibrant West Contra Costa County community.

Meals on Wheels West Contra Costa County delivers nutritious meals to seniors to support their health and to help them continue living in the comfort of their own home. Volunteers make Contactless meal deliveries to clients who are 60 years of age and above, homebound, and unable to prepare meals for themselves and have no one available to do so.

President: The president is responsible for the following duties as well as other tasks as needed:

• Presides at board meetings
• Creates meeting agendas
• Appoints committees and committee chairs
• Serves as the primary contact for the board
• Sets goals and objective for the board
• Holds members accountable for attending meetings
• Signs legal documents as needed

Vice President: The vice president is responsible for the following duties as well as other tasks as needed:

• Prepares to assume the board President role
• Fulfills board chair duties when presiding officer is absent
• Assists the board chair in executing duties
• Serves on committees to learn board operations
• Signs legal documents as needed

Secretary: The secretary is responsible for the following duties as well as other tasks as needed:

• Distributes an agenda and relevant documents before meetings
• Prepares official board meeting minutes
• Assures that documents are filed and accessible
• Schedules board meetings
• Holds members accountable for their tasks
• Signs legal documents as needed

Two Members at Large:

• Attend quarterly board meetings and other meetings as scheduled
• Communicate with director and other board members
• Follow through on assignments
• Adhere to organization's guidelines
• Advance the mission of the non-profit

We serve clients living in Crockett, El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Hercules, Kensington, North Richmond, Pinole, Point Richmond, Port Costa, Richmond, Rodeo, and San Pablo.
