DESCRIPTIONOFTHEEVENT:

Extra Life unites thousands of players around the world to host gaming marathons in support of local Children's Miracle Network hospitals, like SickKids. Participants play any game from anywhere, anytime, while raising money for their hospital of choice. To date, Extra Life gamers have fundraised over $3.2 million for SickKids! Thanks to the help of their incredible contributions, SickKids is able to deliver the very cutting edge of what is possible in care; break through with research that benefits patients today; and build partnerships to improve care for more children--here and around the world. DESCRIPTIONOFTHEPOSITION:

Leadership role within the Guild. The Extra Life Toronto Guild is a group of committed Extra Life participants who want to take their impact a step further. They amplify the message of Extra Life through events, online promotion, and community rallying. The leadership oversees Guild activities, and works closely with SickKids Foundation to drive participation, fundraising results and impact.

We are currently looking for 1-2 new leaders to join the Extra Life Toronto Guild. These roles will focus around secretary duties and social media managing, with the option for the successful candidate(s) to do either or both, depending on preference/experience.

Secretary Duties:

• Organize and book bi-monthly Guild meetings (currently virtual, with eventual return to in-person at SickKids Foundation offices)
• Take meeting minutes and share post-meeting
• Organize bi-monthly Guild socials (currently virtual, with eventual return to in-person at various gaming café’s/facilities in GTA)

Social Media Duties:

• Manage Extra Life Toronto social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter)
• Create and share content, engage with participants, work with SKF to promote events/initiatives as needed

Required Skills

TIME AND LOCATION:

Flexible - This event is primarily virtual, however some in person events will be planned, pending covid-protocols. Extra Life runs year round. This role is a 1 year minimum commitment, with the option to extend yearly. On average, expect 1-2 hour a week of time, with some weeks less and some more. The programs busy season is fall - leading up to the official 24 hour gaming marathon Game Day on November 5th, 2022.
