ORGANIZATION: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Suncoast Chapter

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 156 people are interested

We are always looking for wonderful people to come and help out our office staff: greeting people; answering phones, administrative projects. A couple of hours per week would be a big help. Sometimes, we have major events that need extra hands to prepare and set up.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Founded in 1949, we are relentless in pursuit of our mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our volunteers and their tremendous commitment to our organization. If you want to learn more, please visit our website @ www.lls.org.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

Description

Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.

In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.

The chapter serves the Charlotte, Citrus, Desota, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota counties.
