Looking for mentors in the creative fields to work with 11th grade students in our Multi Media Art Academy (MMAA) during the 2022-23 school year.

It only asks for about an hour per month between January and June. Mentorships remotely via video conference, email or chat. Mentorships can be in the forms of art assignments, job shadowing, critiques, interviews, field expeditions, etc. Students are expected to attend a virtual Mentor meet-up (at the end of January) make contact with a potential mentor from a list that I share with them.

The MMAA is a three-year pathway, focusing on all aspects of the arts as profession, industry and personal pursuit. We are partially supported by the California Department of Education’s (CDE) Career Partnership Academy ( https://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/gs/hs/cpagen.asp ) . This model emphasizes school-within-a-school small learning communities and workplace learning opportunities, such as mentorships in the 11th grade and internships in 12th. Mentors volunteer their time, but gain much in return. As an adult professional creative, insights gleaned from your own journey and feedback on student process and artwork is invaluable.

If you are willing and able to join our mentorship program, please fill out the survey . I will work to arrange the best fit between mentors and mentees. And, of course, contact me with any questions.
