As a member of the Disabled Resource Services board of directors, you will help lead this vital community organization.
Board Member Duties:
- Ensure that appropriate organizational policies and structures are in place
- Participate in the development of a mission statement and strategic plan for the organization
- Hire and ensure that ineffective senior management team is in place
- Maintain effective partnerships in communication with the community, the organization’s members, and its stake holders
- Maintain fiscal responsibility including raising income, managing income, and approving and monitoring annual budgets
- Ensure transparency in all communication to members stakeholders and the public
- Evaluate the organization's work and relation in relation to its mission and strategic plan
- Evaluate the work of the board of directors, ensuring continuous renewal of the board, and plan for the succession and diversity of the board

Description
At Disabled Resource Services (DRS) we focus on helping people with all types of disabilities gain, regain or maintain their independence. A Colorado non-profit agency serving Larimer and Jackson counties, we advocate for change through calls to action for more accessible and integrated communities and we develop partnerships to accomplish more for the greater good of people with disabilities.At Disabled Resource Services (DRS) we focus on helping people with all types of disabilities gain, regain or maintain their independence. A Colorado non-profit agency serving Larimer and Jackson counties, we advocate for change through calls to action for more accessible and integrated communities and we develop partnerships to accomplish more for the greater good of people with disabilities.With more than 50% of staff having disabilities themselves, they are positive role models and provide peer support and mentoring. They share a bond that reflects the very nature of what it means to live with a disability, work with a disability or grow up with a disability.
DRS is a certified Center for Independent Living. It is one of nine non-profit agencies in Colorado that meet the unique and often complex needs of people with disabilities. Our staff helps them acquire renewed hope, assist with setting goals and developing a plan to succeed, get needs met and assure they increase their independence and quality of life.
