We are looking for volunteers to host Bingo with our residents! Volunteers will arrive for setup, to host, and cleanup of Bingo (may include disinfecting - wiping down - tables and/or Bingo cards). Bingo lasts around an hour, maybe more, maybe less and can have anywhere from 2 - 10 residents attending. We will have the Bingo set, you do not need to provide the actual game.
We have availability at all sites, weekdays preferred but weekends a possibility.
We are open to any number of volunteers interested, but this is not a good opportunity for groups. At most, 2 volunteers at a time.
NEEDS: Due to limited budgeting, we ask that volunteers bring in the small prizes for Bingo. Items at the Dollar Tree are common and welcome - personal care, home goods/decor, seasonal items, etc. are all big hits. Items and value per item are up to the volunteer. We suggest bringing in around 10 -15 items as prizes, but the number is at your discretion.

Mission Statement
Hearth is a non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of homelessness among the elderly. This mission is accomplished through a unique blend of prevention, placement, and housing programs all designed to help elders find and succeed in homes of their own. To this end, all housing operated by Hearth provides a creative array of supportive services that assist residents to age with dignity, regardless of their special medical, mental health, or social needs. Hearth believes these goals are best accomplished through respect for elders and staff, with the desire to see both achieve their highest degree of potential.

About Hearth:
Since 1991, we’ve created 228 units of permanent affordable homes across Greater Boston, each with the support services this unique population needs. Hearth is committed to placing elders in service-enriched housing, promoting as much self-sufficiency as possible by providing or connecting elders with the services they require: Health and Behavioral Health Services. Individual service plans are created to fit the unique needs of each resident.
Hearth’s Outreach & Prevention Programs provide a comprehensive set of services to homeless and at-risk elders to help them reestablish their lives within permanent and affordable housing in and around the City of Boston.
As of 2021, marking our 30th year, we have housed over 2,800 elders and provided additional services to even more!

- Background Check
- Up to 1.5 - 2 hours per Bingo shift, including setup and break down.
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19, with the booster(s), if eligible OR provide a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the volunteer date. (Negative rapid tests will not be accepted). Masks are requires while indoors at any Hearth building.
