The mission of the Friends of Bolton Mansion is to engage the Lower Bucks County community through exhibits and programming that are open to the public. The continued restoration and preservation of the Mansion as a historic museum, along with the Farmers’ residence and surrounding grounds will foster interest in the interpretation of the site, the history of Bolton Mansion, and its role in the early history of the Commonwealth through the present day.

Event Manager Volunteer

We are looking for Event Managers to chair event committees (up to 5 ppl per committee). Committee members will work together and handle the following tasks as a team:

• Lead the committee in managing events and addressing potential problems that may arise.
• Building the committee with Event Coordinator volunteers may be necessary for new events.
• Plan for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event.
• Provide updates to the Director of Events with progress including submission of meeting minutes.
• Coordinate and book entertainment, food vendors, vendors, tour guides, day of volunteers, etc.
• Work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Solicit local businesses for goods and/or services for donations.
• Attend monthly or weekly planning meetings, virtually or in-person (as needed, following CDC, DOH guidelines) with the event committee. Flexible on in-person meetings.
• Provide quality assistance and customer service in a professional manner to our guests.

Must have skills:

• 1-3 years of Event Management experience or working towards an Event Management or similar degree

• Annual Afternoon Tea (April/May) - a small 45 person seating Victorian style tea
• Annual Fall Festival (Sept) - a large mainly outdoor festival with a DJ, food trucks, table vendors, various entertainment, historical interpreters, historical tours of the mansion
• Murder Mystery Dinner (October) - a 120 guest per night Murder Mystery Dinner
• Annual Holiday House/Grinchmas (Dec) - For Holiday House, the mansion is decorated for the holidays and historical interpreters provide information about the history inside the mansion. Outside, Mommy's Lil Black Book hosts Grinchmas with the Grinch, Santa, food trucks, table vendors, various entertainment etc.
• Wedding and Private Rentals - looking for someone to create a strategic plan for hosting wedding and private rentals in partnership with local catering companies and event planners which would include researching insurance needs, capacity for inside and outside rentals, permits and regulations, marketing and promotion, grants to cover funding etc.
