Description
On May 27, 1965, we were incorporated as Lincoln Park First Aid Squad, Inc. For more than 50 years, the Lincoln Park First Aid Squad, also known as Lincoln Park EMS (LPEMS), has been providing free emergency medical services to friends, visitors, and neighbors of Lincoln Park. As the Lincoln Park area population grows every year, the demands on LPEMS also increase annually.
The organization’s members are volunteers who donate their time to answer emergency calls around the clock, 365-days a year. Neither the squad nor any member receives monetary compensation from any source for providing emergency medical services.
Many of our squad members are state/national-certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). They are trained to recognize and treat various medical problems ranging from heart and asthma attacks, diabetic emergencies, respiratory problems to fractures, bumps, and bruises. Training is provided free for any squad member.
