Thank you for your interest in the Renaissance WBC Mentorship Program!
This program connects corporate employees and professionals with Bay Area entrepreneurs to provide them with support and help them achieve their business goals and expand their networks.

There are two different ways to get involved:

  • Teaching business workshops/offering office hours.
  • Providing one-on-one counseling

This is an opportunity to use your skills and expertise to make a difference in your community! We ask for a commitment of 6 hours over two months for this virtual experience.

Requirements for the mentors

We are looking for volunteer professionals who can commit to and offer a minimum of 6 hours over two months for one-on-one mentorship. We suggest meeting virtually once every two weeks. Must complete a counseling form for each session.

Additionally, we request that volunteers provide feedback at the end of the program.


Needed areas of expertise

At least three years of experience in the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Web development
  • Digital Marketing
  • Accounting and bookkeeping
  • HR/Personnel
  • Operations
  • Sales

The mentees

The mentees will be Renaissance clients who may be in business or at the ready-to-launch stage. They will also meet the following requirements:

  • Have taken active steps to launch their business, e.g. obtained business license/permits, identified/have customers, made sales, written a business plan, etc., AND have completed at least eight hours of Renaissance programming and services.
  • Have clear or SMART goals for their business.
  • Can commit to attending all the mentorship sessions.


Timeline

March 15: Renaissance shares Mentor applications

May 25: Due date to complete application

May 26: Renaissance will inform application decisions

June 1: 30-min Orientation at 5:30 pm for elected Mentors

June 5-9: 15-min introduction to your Mentee

June 12: Mentorship Program starts

August 11: Mentorship Program ends
