Empowered Youth!

Pagus:Africa's mission is to empower youth to be change-makers in their communities. Communication is one key area that is critical to students' success and we seek help so our students can build their skills in writing.

For this opportunity, the volunteer will edit essays that our students submit weekly and, once familiar with the kinds of mistakes they are making, to provide online lessons to build grammar skills. Lessons can be on zoom or recorded on your phone and uploaded onto youtube or another site for students to access. Most of our students are high school level, with some junior high school students participating from time to time.

As part of this role, we will ask the volunteer to1. Benchmark students' abilities. 2. Note which areas need to be addressed 3. Address those areas through zoom or recorded video. 4.assess the students' progress.

As young people develop their communication skills, they help to reach others and to change lives. They also have greater opportunities for personal and career success.

The volunteer will have direction from the director, who lives in the USA. The students is in Ghana will welcome the input of someone who can help guide them to be successful.

If you want to check out a video of some of our students, you can see it here: https://youtu.be/UrgzYqQFMfU
