Nonprofit Seeking Interior Designers/Interior Decorators for Unique Hotel Room Designs

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: One Community

Duplicable City Center
Open Source Duplicable City Center

One Community is an all-volunteer nonprofit sustainability think tank. Our team is global and we do all our work virtually. We're seeking Interior Designers/Decorators to help create creative room designs for this ultra-sustainable structure built with geodesic domes:
https://www.onecommunityglobal.org/duplicable-city-center

The structure will have 12 rental rooms and we'd like each room to have a uniquely marketable look and feel. To achieve this, we're seeking several interior designers to each take 1-2 rooms and propose themes and create and render the related room designs.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ hours a week availability
  • 2+ months availability
  • SketchUp experience (the structure is a dome that is already fully modeled in SketchUp)
  • AutoCAD experience a plus but not required (structure is already done in AutoCAD too)
  • Experience and software you'll use for the designs and renders (SketchUp, Rhino, 3DSMax, etc.)
  • Must be self-motivated and comfortable working in a virtual environment (from home) using GoogleDocs and DropBox for collaboration

ABOUT THE STRUCTURE

The Duplicable City Center is a 4-story open source dining hall and recreation hub designed to service 200+ people and function as the center of eco-humanitarian villages to be built around the world. When complete, this will be the largest open source construction in the world. We need help creating the look and feel of the 12 rental rooms.

WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE WHEN DONE

  1. Complete interior design and renders for 1-2 rooms
  2. Complete cost analysis for your designs

Virtual Opportunities Only, Global Team, CA 91775, US

Mission Statement

Our mission at One Community is to help people create a better world by demonstrating a more sustainable and enriching way of living and open source everything required for replication. We are a 100% volunteer non-profit and non-governmental organization. We are creating open source resources and solutions for food, energy, housing, social architecture, education, economics, stewardship, and more.

Description

Our vision is to usher in a new age of cooperation, collaboration, and sustainability. We do this by demonstrating what’s possible, open sourcing and free-sharing the blueprints, and making modular or total duplication easy enough, affordable enough, and attractive enough so that positive and sustainable world-change will spread on its own.
