Become an Ending the Silence presenter for the Solano County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness!

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI Solano County serves to carry out this commitment at the local level in Solano County, California.

NAMI Ending the Silence is an engaging presentation that is free to local middle and high schools. It is offered by two leaders: (1) a lead presenter 18 years or over, who is a person with a mental health condition or is a family member of someone who has a mental health condition and (2) a young adult between 18-35 with a mental health condition, who shares their journey of recovery. Research has shown that NAMI Ending the Silence is effective in changing middle and high school students' knowledge and attitudes toward mental health conditions and seeking help. Audience members can ask questions and gain understanding of an often-misunderstood topic.
