You'll live and work at a rural charity in South Africa and get involved with specific projects that complements your skills and interests or help with them all and gain transferable skills and practical experience... all while leaving a lasting impact.
This placement is backed by the UN SDG so any long-term volunteer will receive a certificate of course completion at the end of the placement.
Focused on community outreach, development, and investment in infrastructure.
From teaching children, training and empowering women, "upcycling" and trash to treasure initiatives, entrepreneurship training, sustainable agriculture, anti-poaching work there's lots to get involved with!
The charity has 5 pillars and principles of development: education, conservation, eco-tourism, economic development, and sustainability. Each area has its own projects and goals. You can get involved in all of them or if you are particularly interested in a specific area.

Creating and offering incredible conservation and sustainability projects that have real world and long-lasting impacts with wildlife and the environment. We teach, train and empower our students and volunteers to gain transferable skills relating to their studies or personal ambitions via accredited course's backed by the UN or industry standards.
Description
Hamba Africa develops wildlife focused placements and conservation projects across South Africa. Volunteers can take part in a variety of different projects that match their passion and skill set. Help ecologists with behavioural research on leopards or elephants. Monitor populations with camera trap surveys, transect surveys or small mammal trap surveys. Actively protect wildlife and ecosystems during anti-poaching work or habitat management programs. Gain course accreditation and launch your career in wildlife and professional conservation.
We also work with rural communities helping to teach, train and invest in long term development projects such as entrepreneurship programs, building local infrastructure and educating and working with children.
Gain as you give, volunteers will develop new skills and transferable experience as you work or study as part of an accredited courses. Take away great memories, new friends and the satisfaction of making a positive impact.
