We encourage anyone who would like to make a change in a students life to come an volunteer with "CAPS at The Safe Center". Our volunteers are provided with free training to present classroom workshops about child abuse, bullying, online safety and sexual harassment in Nassau and Suffolk counties. All supplies and materials are provided and we ask volunteers to commit to provide one 45-minute class per month. There is no teaching experience required and many volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds. Our current base is made up of students, social workers, retirees and people who have worked in law enforcement and the tech industry.

Description
The Safe Center LI is a new not-for-profit created in 2014 through the merger of the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Coalition Against Child Abuse and Neglect. It is the only agency in Nassau County providing comprehensive services to victims of domestic abuse, child abuse and sexaul assault - women, men, children, elderly and transgender - all under one roof. Built on each agency's three decades of experience leading the community in responding to victims needs, The Safe Center is breaking new ground in victim's services.
