Special Olympics Delaware has been changing the lives of Delawareans since 1971. Through sports training and competition in 19 sports, more than 4,300 athletes with intellectual disabilities have proven that, given the chance, no disability is too great to overcome.
We are looking for swim coaches and practice volunteers in all 5 areas across the state (Wilmington, Newark, MOT, Kent and Sussex). Coaches and volunteers are required to be Class A Volunteers, which includes an application, online training and background check every 3 years.
Coaches and Volunteers are required to commit to the Spring season, training once a week with the team at a local pool from April until June.
Coaches and Volunteers are asked to attend the end of season competition with athletes June 9& 10, 2023

The mission of Special Olympics Delaware is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
