This opportunity is where a volunteer would make telephone calls to patients/caregivers to assure that they have the necessary supplies, medications, and/or support that they might need for the weekend. Calls are normally made on a Thursday.

Kindred Hospice- Mineral Wells is committed to clinical excellence while providing comfort and dignity to both the patient and the family who are facing a life-limiting illness. Volunteers are an integral part of our philosophy. Hospice volunteers are there to hold a hand and listen, read or write a letter, run errands or even help out in the office. Volunteers are there to step in when a family member needs a break, and they are there for the family and friends after their loved one has passed away. No matter what your skills, talents or motivation, we have the opportunity for you to help. Volunteers receive training appropriate to each volunteer position. Orientation and training are scheduled to fit your busy schedule. Volunteers provide as much or as little of time as they can/want. Some Volunteer Opportunities are: Administrative Volunteers: provide organizational/clerical support including filing, answering phones, mailings and additional support, Direct Care Volunteers: provide emotional support and practical assistance, which enhance the comfort and quality of life for patients and families/caregivers. These services include being available for companionship, listening, and simply "being there". Patient volunteers may also provide relief for caregivers, Tuck-In Call Volunteer: make telephone calls to patients/caregivers to assure that they have the necessary supplies, medications, and/or support that they might need, Veteran-to-Veteran: a veteran volunteer will visit with a veteran hospice patient
