Cat Care Associate - Petco Saint Augustine

We are in search of volunteers to help care for our cats located at Petco Saint Augustine. We are looking for individuals over the age of 18 who can commit to volunteering one day per week for at least one month, but ideally this would be an ongoing commitment.

Duties include scooping and refreshing litter boxes, refilling food and water dishes, changing blankets/beds, disinfecting surfaces inside the cages, and other light cleaning activities.

Petco opens at 9am and closes at 8pm Monday-Saturday; they are open from 10am-7pm on Sundays. We are looking for volunteers to either go in the morning or evening during these hours, one or more days per week.

Our mission is to take all the stray cats and kittens off the streets of St. Johns County, Florida, provide them with proper veterinary care, and adopt them out to loving, forever homes. ​

Description

Murphy's Kittens is a 501(c)3 cat rescue that began in February 2020. We have a small facility, which we use to take in stray cats and kittens and house them while they receive veterinary care. From there they will go to one of our two Petco adoption centers. As of April 20, 2021 we have adopted out 82 cats and kittens. We love what we do, but we could do it so much better with a few dedicated volunteers. We are specifically looking for a fundraising coordinator, people to care for the cats at the Petco adoption centers (18+), and many other projects we are working on.
