Volunteers are needed to help keep our cat room clean! We house approximately 20 permanent residents in our free-roam cat room and they can make quite a mess. Duties include sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning litter boxes, refilling water bowls, and more. After the cleaning is done, there is always time to socialize with the cats, give them treats and catnip, brush them, and play with them.
The shelter's hours vary by week, so let us know your availability and we will determine a time for you to volunteer. Please wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. You can volunteer for as many hours as we can accommodate, but we recommend starting with 2 hours to get acquainted with the shelter.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to take all the stray cats and kittens off the streets of St. Johns County, Florida, provide them with proper veterinary care, and adopt them out to loving, forever homes.
Description
Murphy's Kittens is a 501(c)3 cat rescue that began in February 2020. We have a small facility, which we use to take in stray cats and kittens and house them while they receive veterinary care. From there they will go to one of our two Petco adoption centers. As of April 20, 2021 we have adopted out 82 cats and kittens. We love what we do, but we could do it so much better with a few dedicated volunteers. We are specifically looking for a fundraising coordinator, people to care for the cats at the Petco adoption centers (18+), and many other projects we are working on.
