This is an amazing grassroots effort that has not gotten any media attention - a local young woman leader in Nairobi has received a small amount of funding from the organization SheCanTri and has organized swimming lessons for 20 young women in the slum of Kibera. The attendees also receive food for their families and information about their rights. This is a super positive story of empowering women in a difficult area, and we'd love to have some media coverage so that the woman on the ground who got it started (Gitonga Miriam of Nairobi) has some recognition for her work.
You will be able to have zoom interviews, photos and video, we'd like to get the attention of bloggers or journalists with some audience to cover it.
