Be part of providing Forest visitors exceptional experiences and memories! Whether camping, picnicking, boating, hiking, fishing, riding an OHV or any of the other many uses of public lands recreationists expect varied, clean, and well-maintained recreation opportunities. This will be the focus of this opportunity - travel to the various campgrounds and recreation sites and ensure in safe condition, clean the area (including restrooms); paint/stain picnic tables, signs, restrooms; prune vegetation around fire rings and sites; some mowing; and other various projects. These volunteers also provide the face of the Forest Service to the public answering questions and providing information. You’ll be doing this in the eastern San Juan Mountain near the headwaters of the mighty Rio Grande. Other opportunities to periodically assist other disciplines in addition to recreation may be available. Expectation is a minimum of 3 workdays/week.
