ORGANIZATION: Sunnyside Community Services

Do people say you make friends everywhere? Are you outgoing, talkative, love to meet people? Are you curious about other people's perspectives? Are you a stellar volunteer who goes above and beyond to help others?

You've come to the right place.

How it works: our expert matchmaker (program coordinator) will take your unique personality and skills into consideration and match you with an older adult and you will develop a friendship with this person in person at their home.

I know, I know this is EXACTLY what you've been looking for. But before you sign up, please read our program requirements below.

  • All volunteers must:
    • Live in the New York tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut) and be at least 18 years old.
    • Commit at least six months to participating in our program to build a meaningful relationship with their matched older adult.
    • Provide two references and consent to a background check (more information in the application).

Ok, now you can let us know you're interested.

Reach out to Jennie Thomas to learn more about how you can change a senior's life!
