FCSA is currently looking for volunteers that are ready to be a part of the movement that is revolutionizing fibromyalgia care!

Tasks volunteers can help out include outreach duties like volunteering at health and wellness table events, handing fliers, researching funding opportunities, social media outreach and organizing our annual Caterpillar Walk/Run in May.

1. What is Fibromyalgia - fibromyalgia is a chronic nervous system disorder that affects approximately 10-12 million individuals nationwide.
2. What causes Fibromyalgia - the root cause of fibromyalgia remains unknown but studies identify 4 main triggers

• Biological: fibromyalgia runs in families
• Serious/Repetitive Injuries: sports, surgery, physical trauma, car accidents
• Serious Physical Illnesses i.e. Autoimmune Disorders, Serious Virus Infections like Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Cancer, Gulf War Illness
• Emotional Trauma: being a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, military combat service, post-traumatic stress disorder
