Social Media Lead

8by8 is looking for a volunteer Social Media Lead to join our existing social media team and assist in co-leading volunteers in content creation and brand growth. We are a volunteer-run nonprofit working to #StopAsianHate at the ballot box, by increasing historically low voter registration and political participation in our Asian communities. Our "8by8 challenge" app will use social engagement and viral marketing to spread the message of voter registration; challengers will invite 8 of their friends to register to vote in 8 days, providing a fun and engaging way to register new voters.

To help market our app, gain new users, and build our brand identity, we are seeking a capable and experienced social media lead to manage all aspects of the process and work closely with our other team leads. The role will focus on big-picture strategy and task delegation, with the execution being carried out by our volunteer team.

You will:

• Design, build, and maintain our social media presence.
• Coordinate the creation of new content and social media campaigns
• Monitor key metrics and grow the 8by8 brand across different social media platforms
• Work with partner organizations in cross-promotion efforts
• Lead and mentor our existing volunteer team to make sure deadlines are met

You are:

• Experienced in social media and brand development
• A capable leader with strong delegation and management skills
• Excited about the #StopAsianHate cause and 8by8's tech and community based solutions
• At least 2 years of professional experience in social media and brand development
