At the Ronald McDonald House Charities(r) San Diego, it's important we welcome our guests with the highest level of service and the most pristine accommodations. You can be part of that exemplary approach by assisting our House Services staff to create inviting, relaxing rooms ready for the next guests. If tidying up helps you to de-stress, we need you at the House! If you are a person who likes to be on the move in a productive way and would like to pair that with supporting families with children facing life-threatening illnesses and injuries, we need you too!

This is a useful way to spend time with a buddy who also enjoys making things shine while serving people in our community! Many shifts need two volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Arrive on time each scheduled day.
• Maintain an organized, safe workspace.
• Assist House Services staff -sanitize and tidy up available guest rooms.
• Make beds and hang towels.
• Add amenities to the room such as bottled water, fresh flowers, a goodie bag, etc., to create a welcoming atmosphere for a weary family.
• Work in tandem with other RMHCSD staff and volunteers.

Qualifications:

• Reliable and dependable!
• Good organizational skills.
• Meticulous -- able to follow strict protocols and procedures.
• Ability to move freely and able to lift 35 lbs (accommodations made for those who cannot lift).
• Willing to follow directions, ask questions, and share ideas.
• Demonstrate friendly, helpful attitude when working with other volunteers and staff.
• Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision, and as an integral team member.
• Reports any operational problems immediately.
