Hospice Tuck-in Call/Office Volunteer
ORGANIZATION: Compassus
Please visit the new page to apply.
Overview: Do you enjoy making friendly phone calls and helping to ensure patients and families have what they need for the weekend? If so, our Tuck-in Call Program may be the perfect fit for you! Tuck-in call volunteers contact patients/families by phone for the purpose of obtaining specific information that will assist in preparing patients/families for weekend needs. In addition, these volunteers provide emotional support, as appropriate.
Duties: Using a call script, you will be conducting an assessment of weekend needs that a patient may have or anticipates needing, such as supplies and/or medications. You will then provide the Volunteer Coordinator, RN Case Manager, or Director of Clinical Services with the information obtained. Documentation of calls is done on a tracking log and given to appropriate staff.
Additional Information: Tuck-in calls are made every Thursday at our Neenah office. Volunteers conducting tuck-in calls must complete the application process, background check, and volunteer orientation before receiving assignments. Volunteers conducting tuck-in calls must clearly understand the supportive nature of this role and how to escalate concerns/needs to appropriate staff. Volunteers will always maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality. As with all volunteer opportunities at Compassus, training will be provided.
