Advantage Aging Solutions’ SHINE Program (Tallahassee) has a short-term need for an individual experienced in the use of Facebook to help educate and demonstrate how to use the available Facebook tools for the purpose of informing, attracting, and recruiting new SHINE Medicare Counselors from a 14-county area of the Big Bend and Panhandle regions of North Florida.
SHINE stands for Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders. SHINE offers free counseling services and assistance to seniors, those with disabilities, and their caregivers, in order to better understand Medicare so they can make the most informed decisions about their health insurance needs.
Currently, as a staff of one, the SHINE Liaison is very eager to enlarge his corps of volunteers Counselors in order to reach and serve a greater number of Medicare beneficiaries, especially rural and low-income recipients. With current volunteers reluctant to travel to recruit in-person, the use of social media such as Facebook seems to be a much better alternative. It is also the social media platform most often used by seniors.

Description
The Area Agency on Aging of North Florida d/b/a Advantage Aging Solutions (AAS) is a private nonprofit organization established in 1978 to address the needs and concerns of all older persons at the regional and local levels.
Funded by the State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs, AAS coordinates a variety of home and community-based services through contracts with local providers in fourteen counties.
Advantage Aging Solutions acts as a starting point for information about programs and services for older adults, persons with disabilities and caregivers, and is the access point for the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long Term Care Program.
AAS has highly trained specialists who help older adults, persons with disabilities and caregivers access to home and community-based services which includes, home delivered meal programs, and other private or publicly funded programs.
