Make a difference in the life of a grieving child!
A national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides a safe and fun place for kids grieving the death of a parent, guardian, or sibling.
It’s a lot like regular camp-fishing, swimming, arts & crafts, gaga ball, bonfires, s’mores and more!
A unique part of Comfort Zone is we also help kids with their grief. You don’t need to have experienced a loss or have any clinical background to be a great volunteer.
Next Camp in Massachusetts: September 30 - October at Camp Burgess in Sandwich, MA!
During this four-hour volunteer training session, you will meet Comfort Zone staff, campers, and volunteers who will explain what to expect at camp and how our program impacts grieving children and teens. You will receive education about childhood bereavement and we’ll give you tips on how to be successful in whichever volunteer role you are selected to fill.
There are many volunteer opportunities within Comfort Zone Camp:
- Big Buddy Mentor (matched 1:1 with a camper)
- Nurse
- Support Group Facilitator
- Photographer
- General Camp Volunteer (logistical support staff)
