About Carboncopies

At the Carboncopies Foundation, we believe that the possibilities and opportunities enabled by Whole Brain Emulation (WBE) represent the most promising technological path to overcoming our fundamental limitations as a species.

To achieve WBE, essential advances are needed in neurobiology, neurophysiology, brain imaging, micro- and nanoscale technologies, computational neuroscience, computing hardware, and even the philosophy of mind. We provide peer networks and project opportunities to scientists working on challenges critical to whole brain emulation and recognize that there is a long road ahead of us.

Responsibilities

The Carboncopies Foundation is growing, and we need level designers for creating the virtual environments for our upcoming Open-Source video game.

As a level designer, you'd be responsible for creating detailed open-world environments with our editor.

Your tasks will include:

• Work with engine developers to improve editor
• Work with modeling staff to create 3d models for the level
• Attend regular meetings around once or twice a week
• Block out levels
• Finalize levels and swap out stand-in assets
• Document your work
• Commit changes to git source control

Qualification

The following qualifications and/or experience aren’t required but would be helpful for you in taking on this role:

• Game design
• Level design
• 3D modeling
• Graphic design
• Software development
• Video Production

Time commitment

10 hours/week.
