Image_202205021603

St. James Food Pantry is now a full-choice pantry! We are welcoming clients to come in and choose the items that they need. We are currently serving about 100 clients per day for groceries in the morning, and welcome 30 to 50 guests for lunch in the afternoon.

We're in need help for almost all of our shifts. Tasks include unloading food shipments, preparing bags for our senior and home delivery program, assisting pantry clients with their shopping experience, restocking shelves, preparing food for lunch, and serving our lunch guests.

We can accommodate people of all work capacities and physical abilities. We welcome you to come put your caring self into action, and help us support our neighbors experiencing food insecurity in Bronzeville, Chinatown, Armor Square, Bridgeport, and the South Loop.

Bolded shifts indicates the times when volunteer support is most needed:

GROCERY DISTRIBUTION

More than half of our clients speak Cantonese and Mandarin. Because of this we have particular need of bilingual volunteers.
